Ideas For Fashion Club Activities

Although many schools sponsor organizations for students interested in art, fashion design and merchandising, some students prefer to form informal fashion clubs. Students join these clubs because they are interested in a career in fashion, or simply want to share their love of fashion with others. Fashion clubs attract members by planning a variety of activities.

A fashion club has numerous options to choose from to complete community service. Project ideas include coat drives, collecting used clothing for disaster relief, raising money for a scholarship fund or supporting a famous fashion charity. Of course, service projects do not have to be related to the fashion industry. Recycling, health walks and food drives are also possibilities.

Club members can engage the student body by supporting school events. This may entail attending school athletic events, concerts and plays. See if the club can sell clothing designed by club members at these events to raise money for future club activities. Other students may be more willing to support and join a fashion club if they sense the club is supportive of other student organizations.

After the club has raised some funds, field trips can be discussed. Field trips can range from as close as in the school itself to hundreds of miles away. Set aside one meeting for club members to go to the school library to check out biographies of famous fashion designers. At the next meeting, hold a discussion on the designers. If the club has the necessary funds and the support and permission of the school administration, excursions off campus may be possible. Trip ideas includes jaunts to department stores, movies, restaurants and local fashion shows.

A major activity a fashion club can undertake is providing its members and others with information about the fashion industry. Many fashion clubs even make guest speakers the cornerstone of each meeting by extending speaking invitations to businesses and organizations associated with the fashion world. After listening to the guest, open up the floor for questions.

Another way to give out information is to organize a career fair. In a large room, arrange tables for representatives from various local baronesses and organizations. High on the list for invitations should be colleges that offer programs fashion programs, area fashion academies, design houses and clothing stores. Other possibilities include modeling schools and agencies, art institutes, beauty schools, wholesale clothing suppliers, and stores that traditionally hire students. Open the career fair to the general student body to encourage more businesses to participate.

Floor Plans For Nightclubs – Great Business Ideas For Your Night Club

Nightclubs are well-known for their hot dance floors and cool bars. When deciding on nightclub floor plans, there are a lot of decisions to be made regarding the placement of specific locations within the nightclub itself. There are certain elements that must be included in those plans no matter what type of nightclub is being built.

Nightclubs Need a Bar Area

Nightclubs must have a bar area for patrons to enjoy. Plans for a new nightclub must include plenty of space for a bar and seating for the bar’s patrons. The bar should be in close proximity to the dance floor so that thirsty dancers won’t have far to go to enjoy refreshing alcoholic beverages. This needs to be taken into account when deciding on the placement of the bar in the plans.

Nightclubs Must Have a Dance Floor

Every nightclub must have a dance floor. The nightclub floor plans should include square footage for the dance floor area. This area needs to be large enough to accommodate dancers, dance contests, or any other event that could possibly take place inside the nightclub.

Nightclubs Need Smoking Areas

Many of today’s nightclubs do not allow smoking in certain areas such as on the dance floor. In that case, the floor plans should include a space for smokers to use. Some nightclubs have an outside porch or terrace for smokers while others designate a small space inside the club for smoking patrons.

Some Nightclubs Have Restaurants

Some nightclubs also have restaurants inside their doors. If that is the case, the nightclub floor plans will need to include space for a kitchen area as well as seating for the restaurant’s patrons. The plans will need to separate the spaces used for the restaurant, bar, and dance floor.

Nightclub Themes

The theme of the nightclub being built will also determine the type of plans needed. For instance, a nightclub with a Vegas theme in Las Vegas might need to have extra square footage in the plans to accommodate slot machines or poker tables. An exclusive nightclub may want to find floor plans that include private rooms for VIP guests or private parties.

Leasing or Building a New Club

Depending on whether the nightclub building is being built according to new plans or using an existing space, nightclub plans may have to be altered. If the nightclub is being housed in a new building, any plan may be followed and built to the correct specifications. If a nightclub is being housed in a leased space or in an existing building, the floor plans may have to be altered to suit the existing building.

Nightclub floor plans need to meet specific requirements depending upon the theme of the nightclub and the requirements its owner sets. Different plans will suggest varying locations for the placement of the bar, restaurant, dance floor, and smoking area. Plans will also vary based on square footage needs. There are a lot of choices when it comes to planning for a new nightclub.

Launching a Club Online?

What is required for your Club?

WordPress, your Registrar’s offer, or Blogger for your Club? Forget about these three. I am not here to promote any particular offer and I will not point to any registration page here.

The objective is to demonstrate that there are other ways to proceed. Instead of thinking “how to” and “how much”, let’s think with a “where do I go” and “how do I proceed to do it quickly”.

AS EASY AS 1-2-3

First: you need a name

Since you are a club, it is a domain name ending in “.club” that you need. This domain name will soon be one of the possible choices during the registration phase in Google Apps for Work so don’t miss that part because:

  1. It is what defines your identity: you’re a club and you want to appear as a club online;
  2. the domain name is the first representation of the Trademark on Internet so if the name of your club Trademarked, remember the “.club” extension will add credibility to it.Regarding Trademarks, it is highly recommended to register in the Trademark Clearinghouse to keep an eye on future possible infringements;
  3. it is one the first things that your readers will see when they find your website in a search engine;
  4. it will appear and catch the eye on your business cards;
  5. as a club – again – it is much cooler to use a domain name ending in “.club”, instead of “.com”.

Second: you need a CMS

CMS stands for “content management system”. It is your publication platform yet to come: you will write your content on its back-end and it will be published on its front-end.

What we can see on the front-end is what appears when someone enters your domain name ending in “.club”. Google Sites is a good choice: it comes with Google Apps for Work and it allows to set up your email ending in “.club” too. Soon, you may even find it in Google Domains directly.

Third: you need a template for a club

This is where it gets interesting: many solutions exist to create a website online, but the one with Google Sites allows you to select templates during the creation process of your first website.

I like to remind you that many offers allow that too, but Google Sites has an option entitled “Browse the Gallery for more” and guess what: on the seven libraries of templates offered, one is entitled “Clubs and organizations“. Some are ugly but… many are quite nice and I have no doubt that you can build your first club online with one of these.

What is it that you can’t read here?

The minus about this offer is that Google neither promotes it nor promotes any other interesting options such as the one for Search Engine Optimization.

Clubs deserve the chance to know that it is possible to create club online in such a fast and efficient way. Regarding SEO, I have been using Google Sites for years and my website is now well indexed.

My preference goes to the template for the Soccer club, everything is there: design of the website, calendar, etc… Have a look at it.
